This interior design project showcases a contemporary eco-style townhouse created for a young family of three — a couple with a small child. The design, developed by Evgenia Ermolaeva and Lyudmila Samoilova (EEDS Design Studio), blends modern functionality with natural textures and warm tones to create a cozy and sustainable home.

First Floor: Social Spaces with Natural Warmth
The ground floor includes the kitchen-living room, hallway, vestibule, guest bathroom, and staircase area. From the start, the clients envisioned a light, cozy interior that wasn’t monochrome. Therefore, we used eco-friendly materials, warm tones, and wood textures to create a relaxed yet refined atmosphere.
One unique feature is the large magnetic chalkboard in the kitchen-living space. Placed on a visible accent wall near the entrance, it adds both visual interest and practicality — perfect for notes, seasonal messages, or holiday decorations.
Second Floor: A Personal Retreat
Upstairs serves as the family’s private zone, with a bedroom, nursery, bathroom, and dressing room. Since the rooms are compact, our focus was on smart planning and creating visual spaciousness. Instead of cluttering the layout, we added brightness, texture, and personality through materials, lighting, and details.
Eco-Friendly Details Throughout
The eco-theme runs consistently across all levels:
- Wood finishes in flooring and furniture, even in porcelain tiles;
- Slatted wood dividers and beams (on the second floor and in the basement);
- Murals and frescoes with landscapes, such as a backlit faux window in the bathroom or art panels in the attic lounge.
As a result, this modern home offers comfort, character, and sustainability — all tailored to the daily life and values of a growing family
